“Skadra”, un court-métrage documentaire produit par Nawaat

Mohamed Aziz Khlifi, 16 ans, originaire de la délégation de Bir Lahfay, Sidi Bouzid. Walid Lahmar, 27 ans, originaire de la délégation de Bir Ali Ben Khelifa, Sfax. Mohamed Ali Ferjani, 32 ans, originaire de Chneni, Gabes. Tous les trois étaient à bord d’un bateau pour immigrer clandestinement à partir des côtes de Kerkennah le 8 octobre 2017. A l’inverse de 44 de leurs camarades dont les corps ont été par la suite retrouvés, ces trois jeunes sont parmi les rares rescapés de la collision de leur bateau avec un navire militaire tunisien. Après l’incident de la “Skadra”, ils sont aujourd’hui de retour à une réalité dont ils ont espéré se débarrasser.

Mohamed Aziz Khlifi, 16 years old, is from the delegation of Bir Lahfay in Sidi Bouzid. Walid Lahmar, 27 years old, is from Bir Ali Ben Khelifa in Sfax. Mohamed Ali Ferjani, 32 years old, is originally from Chneni, Gabes. The three of them were on board a boat to cross illegally from the coast of Kerkennah to Italy on October 8, 2017. These are three survivors of the collision with a Tunisian military ship. After the “Skadra” incident, they have returned to the reality they had set out to escape.

محمد عزيز الخليفي، 16 سنة، أصيل معتمدية بئر الحفي من ولاية سيدي بوزيد. وليد لحمر، 27 سنة، أصيل معتمدية بئر علي بن الخليفة من ولاية صفاقس. محمد علي الفرجاني، 32 سنة، أصيل معتمدية شنني من ولاية قابس. ثلاثتهم كانوا على متن مركب للهجرة السرية إنطلق من سواحل جزيرة قرقنة يوم 08 أكتوبر 2017. ثلاثة من الناجين القلائل اثر صدم المركب الذي كان يقلهم من قبل وحدة بحرية تابعة للجيش الوطني التونسي، على عكس مرافقيهم ال44 الذين وقع انتشال جثثهم. عودة، بعد حادثة ”السكادرا“، إلى واقع حلموا أن يتخلصوا منه.

Torture in Tunisia: Abdelmajid Jdey, Another Death in Police Custody

Abdelmajid Jdey was being held in preventative detention Sidi Bouzid when, on 13 May, the Ministry of the Interior announced his death; according to the statement, Jdey hung himself in his cell. In the weeks that have followed, civil society activists and organizations including Human Rights Watch and the Tunisian Organization Against Torture (OCTT) have contested the Ministry’s announcement. Notably, the victim had filed a complaint of torture to OCTT several days prior to his death.
